Building More Than Black Belts: Steven Lewis Grows Premier Martial Arts Through Business and Community

Steven Lewis embarked on a quest for a meaningful business opportunity four years ago, aiming for something impactful for the community that could benefit his children in the future. This journey led him to Premier Martial Arts, resulting in a multi-location franchise serving families in Dallas and Arlington.

Lewis, along with his partner Monnique Glass, initially opened a school in West Arlington in January 2023 after purchasing franchises in Cedar Hill. They further expanded in July by taking over existing locations in Lake Highlands and Lakewood. With his two daughters involved in the program, he values character development just as much as physical skills.

Lewis states that parents seek Premier’s guidance not to turn their kids into martial artists, but to help them with focus and discipline. The program prioritizes building good individuals and encourages feedback from parents and teachers to evaluate student progress on more than just physical abilities. Ultimately, his vision includes guiding students from learning martial arts to leadership roles within the schools, ensuring they contribute positively to the community they once learned from.
