Klyde Warren Park’s al fresco soiree raises record $1.1 million

The 14th annual Party in the Park took place on October 8 at Klyde Warren Park, famously known as “Dallas’ town square.” The evening transformed the park into an elegant outdoor celebration featuring cocktails at the Nancy Best Fountain, a seated dinner, live performances by the Emerald City Band, and a spectacular fireworks display.

Honorary chair Laurie Sands Harrison guided the event, supported by event chairs Caroline Harrison Loehr, Gavin Loehr, Francis Harrison, Manuel Brito, and Bailey Harrison. The dinner was presented by the Texas Stock Exchange, and First United Bank sponsored the cocktail reception. This year’s fundraiser succeeded in raising a record $1.1 million, which will go towards the park’s daily operations, maintenance, and over 1,300 free community programs annually. Since its opening in 2012, the 5.4-acre park has attracted more than 2 million visitors each year, and the event comes as plans for a new expansion over Woodall Rodgers Freeway are underway.
