North Texas haunted attraction ranks among America's 5 scariest for 2026

As the spooky season approaches its end, thrill-seekers in Dallas face a variety of chilling options. One standout attraction is Thrillvania, situated approximately 30-40 minutes east of Dallas in Terrell. According to America Haunts, an organization that studies trends in the haunted attraction industry, Thrillvania has earned a spot as the fifth scariest haunt in the nation, praised for its enduring appeal and compelling storytelling.

Spanning over 50 acres, Thrillvania features three haunted houses. The central experience, Verdun Manor, tells the tale of Baron Verdun and Lady Cassandra, mythical residents associated with vampirism and lycanthropy. Guests navigate through the manor and surrounding areas, engaging with a narrative that deepens as they progress, transforming the visit into an immersive experience. Access to main attractions might take considerable time during busy nights, but the journey is integral to the story. In addition to Verdun Manor, the attraction includes eerie elements such as Cassandra’s House of Clowns and Sam Hain’s Trail of Torment. Overall, America Haunts highlights that all top five attractions excel in crafting immersive worlds that keep guests on edge.
