Dallas’ Nanoscope Therapeutics Taps Gene Therapy Veteran to Lead Manufacturing, Supply Chain

Dallas-based biotech firm Nanoscope Therapeutics has appointed Troy Short as the senior vice president responsible for managing manufacturing and supply chain operations. His appointment coincides with a crucial phase for the company as it enhances its manufacturing and distribution frameworks.

The company is currently in pursuit of FDA approval for Mogenry, an investigational gene therapy aimed at patients suffering from severe vision loss due to retinitis pigmentosa. Sulagna Bhattacharya, co-founder and CEO of Nanoscope, emphasized the importance of Short’s experience in preparing for the potential launch of Mogenry, a treatment that addresses unmet medical needs.

Prior to joining Nanoscope, Short held key roles in various biotechnology organizations, including his work with FDA approval processes for gene therapies. His background includes significant contributions at AveXis, where he was instrumental in the successful roll-out of Zolgensma, a gene therapy for spinal muscular atrophy. Nanoscope is preparing for clinical trials and distribution of Mogenry and aims to ensure product availability upon its anticipated approval.
