The Green Bay Packers will welcome back running back Josh Jacobs this coming Monday, following what seems to be a favorable outcome against the Dallas Cowboys in their Week 6 matchup, potentially improving their season record to 4-2. While this change is positive news for the team and its supporters, it poses a challenging situation for Pierre Strong Jr.
Jacobs has been sidelined for the first six weeks due to a domestic incident from May. His return comes at a time when Chris Brooks is on IR due to an ankle injury, leaving the Packers with limited options at running back, particularly MarShawn Lloyd and Kaleb Johnson. Consequently, one of the remaining running backs will likely be released, with Strong being the front-runner for this decision. Ken Ingalls noted on social media that if Strong is cut, he might find a spot back on the practice squad, although there’s also a possibility he could receive greater financial benefits by sitting out for the rest of the season rather than returning to the practice squad.
