The Perot Museum of Nature and Science in Dallas is set to embark on a substantial expansion project that will double its exhibition footprint. The new initiative includes an outdoor science area designed as a “living laboratory,” where guests can partake in hands-on experiments and interactive displays to explore the natural world.
This expansive four-acre outdoor area will feature a variety of vegetation and shade trees. The expansion will also revamp the museum’s entrance and lobby, improve educational and dining spaces, and add an on-site parking garage. The project aims to accommodate an additional 400,000 visitors annually and is backed by the museum’s $185 million Curiosity Unbound campaign, of which $135 million has already been raised. Set to break ground in early 2027 and open in late 2028, the outdoor area will provide interconnected zones for immersive experiences with various natural forces.
