I-30 Closures This Weekend in Downtown Dallas

This weekend, Dallas motorists will encounter major road closures starting Saturday night, October 24. Beginning at 10 PM, both eastbound and westbound lanes of I-30 will shut down between the I-35E and I-45/US 75 interchanges. These lanes are expected to remain closed until 5 AM on Monday, October 26. Drivers are advised to follow detour signs directing them to the SH 366/Woodall Rodgers Freeway for alternate travel between I-35E and I-45/US 75.
In light of these closures, TxDOT is urging drivers to minimize unnecessary travel in the area. Caution is advised in work zones, with emphasis on avoiding distractions, adhering to speed limits, and being vigilant about slower-moving traffic. These closures relate to the I-30 Canyon upgrades, which form part of the $888 million reconstruction project anticipated to conclude in 2031. Additional long-term closures affecting local streets will be in effect throughout the project, with updates available on DriveTexas.org.
