Cava to Open New Location in Revitalized Wynnewood Village

Healthy bowl chain Cava to sprout in revitalized Oak Cliff development

The fast-casual Mediterranean restaurant Cava is currently under construction at 671 W. Illinois Avenue, situated in Wynnewood Village, which is undergoing extensive redevelopment. This area, located west of I-35 East at the intersection of Illinois Avenue and Zang Boulevard, recently welcomed a Target store at 655 W. Illinois, which opened last January following a three-year development period. Cava adds to a growing list of existing tenants, including Kroger and El Rancho Supermercado, among others.

Established in 2010, Cava is known for its customizable menu featuring items like crazy feta and healthy bowls, and it first entered the Dallas market in 2020. Recently, the chain celebrated the opening of its 500th location in the U.S. and operates around 25 locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Despite plans for the new 2,391-square-foot site to be completed this summer, final inspection status remains unverified. A company representative indicated that the Wynnewood Village location is expected to open in the first half of next year. According to Brett Milke, a vice president at Brixmor Property Group, improvements are also planned for the shopping center to enhance pedestrian accessibility.
