Terence Newman, a veteran NFL cornerback, faced arrest late Saturday night in Manhattan, Kansas, just hours following a ceremony where he was recognized by Kansas State University in anticipation of his upcoming induction into the College Football Hall of Fame. At 48 years old, Newman was apprehended shortly before midnight on allegations of disorderly conduct and criminal trespass.
A representative from the Riley County Police Department informed the Manhattan Mercury that the charges against Newman stemmed from a dispute with staff members at a local bar and restaurant. Earlier that day, Kansas State triumphed over Kansas in a football match that began at 11 a.m. CT. Newman had a notable collegiate career, being named an All-American and the Big 12 defensive player of the year during his senior year in 2002.
