Knife Italian Steak, the restaurant by Dallas chef John Tesar, has formally closed at The Ritz-Carlton Dallas, Las Colinas, after serving patrons for two and a half years. The closure, confirmed by the hotel’s spokesperson, took effect on October 6 and is part of the hotel’s ongoing evolution after a $65 million renovation.
Initially opened in March 2024, Knife Italian was part of Tesar’s Knife brand, which also includes Knife Steakhouse in Dallas and Plano, as well as Knife & Spoon in Orlando. The restaurant was known for its family-style dishes, prominently featuring steaks and a curated selection of seafood. Moving forward, a new concept titled The Dining Room will replace Knife Italian, offering a variety of dining options in an upscale environment. Further developments in the hotel’s culinary offerings are anticipated, including an exciting new restaurant planned for early 2027 in collaboration with another renowned chef.
