Texas Athletics has revealed that former Texas running back Ricky Williams will be honored as part of this year’s Southeastern Conference Football Legends Class, as presented by T-Mobile. The Southeastern Conference made the announcement last Friday. Williams will join a group of distinguished former college football figures, including players and coaches, who are set to be celebrated during events related to the SEC Football Championship Game in December in Atlanta.

As per Texas Athletics, Williams becomes the third former Texas player to be recognized in the SEC Legends Class, following quarterback Vince Young (2024) and linebacker Derrick Johnson (2025). The 2026 class comprises 16 notable figures who have made significant contributions to the sport, including Heisman Trophy winners and All-Americans. Other inductees this year include Nick Saban from Alabama, Felix Jones from Arkansas, and Patrick Peterson from LSU, among others.
