Trade Speculation Arises for Bruins’ $30 Million Defenseman Following Agent’s Comment

The Boston Bruins are currently enjoying a five-game winning streak, yet a recent decision regarding Nikita Zadorov, one of their top-paid defensemen, has led to speculation about his future. Zadorov, who signed a six-year contract worth $30 million with the Bruins in 2024, was a healthy scratch during the team’s 4-1 win over the Los Angeles Kings. Following the game, his agent, Dan Milstein, addressed a fan’s suggestion about Zadorov potentially receiving treatment from the rival Toronto Maple Leafs, stating, ‘No he would not…’ on social media.

This brief remark has rekindled discussions about Zadorov’s past ties to the Maple Leafs, especially since there has been no indication of a trade request from him. His omission from Saturday’s game came after an incident against the Anaheim Ducks on October 16, where he accumulated six penalty minutes, prompting Bruins coach Marco Sturm to emphasize the need for Zadorov to improve his on-ice discipline. Although Zadorov’s physical style is valued, the Bruins appear to be focusing on his ability to manage penalties effectively.
